Math and Science - my favourite subjects - especially if it involves being outside!
These courses will challenge you - but they will open up doors for you in the future. Before becoming a teacher, I worked internationally in exploration geophysics - studying earthquakes, geologic structures and oil & mineral exploration. Math and Science was my ticket to the world! It will likely be part of your future somehow.
The Specialist High Skills Major program - Environment - continues this year with some exciting projects planned for the second semester. Do you have what it takes to make the Envirothon team? Make sure to ask questions and get involved in the school in activities that are of interest to you - just get involved and you will have much more fun!
Want to talk about the weather? I have had the chance to study weather and learn from many leading US national weather directors - in fields such as space weather, hurricane prediction, tornados, climate change and severe weather.
Weather is amazing! So are weather days from school! With the largest El Nino on record currently, it will be interesting to see how that affects our weather for the upcoming school year!
